Workshop Assignments and Information
Thank you for registering for the English as a Second Language track of Leadership Workshop.
Please download the files below to help you prepare for this equipping week. If you have questions, please contact the coordinator at the email provided on the Frequently Asked Questions document.
You have four assignments due before you arrive at the ILC. Your first assignment is due June 10. Be prepared; most people have to re-submit at least one of the assignments, if not the majority of them. Our leaders are instructed to equip you to lead a basic workshop and to help you introduce literacy ministries to potential volunteers. You won't be able to do that without producing quality assignments.
Practice the ESL Sensitivity Exercise. You will be assessed on your ability to conduct this exercise. It may help you to know that the exercise is simply the drills you teach in your ESL classes. The process is the same; the words are unfamiliar. Practice!
Please order the 2019 Teaching English Language Learners the Good News Basic Workshop Manual from FedEx. You may order either coil bound or 3-ring binder. The ordering instructions are below.
As time for Leadership Workshop grows closer, you will be getting several emails from me. Please pay particular attention to any link I send requesting information. You will send me prayer partners, your preferred name for name tags and certificates, and other information through the same web-based program you used to register. Please use these links rather than sending information through email. It will reduce opportunity for errors.
Thank you. God bless you as you prepare to equip local church volunteers to share Jesus through Adult Reading and Writing ministries.
